Overview
This role sits at the intersection of brand design, editorial thinking, and execution. You will help shape the visual standards of the company and the client work at the same time. The expectation is not just polished output. It is mature judgment about what belongs on the page, what should stay restrained, and how a brand system should carry itself across contexts.
The role
You will work closely with strategy, engineering, and client leadership to translate positioning into work that feels precise on the page and persuasive in context.
The work spans identity refinement, presentation systems, web direction, editorial content structures, campaign expression, and the visual judgment required to make all of those pieces feel coherent.
The team is small enough that your standards will materially influence how the company looks, how clients experience the work, and how internal visual decisions get made.
Responsibilities
- Lead brand and editorial design across active client engagements.
- Develop presentation systems, campaign surfaces, and website visual language.
- Translate abstract strategy into concrete, high-taste design decisions.
- Raise the standard of typography, hierarchy, pacing, and composition across the studio.
- Contribute art direction and visual editing during concept development, not just execution.
- Help evolve reusable systems so repeated deliverables do not become generic deliverables.
Requirements
- Strong portfolio showing identity, editorial, and digital work.
- Clear command of typography, layout, and visual pacing.
- Ability to work comfortably with ambiguity and still produce decisive direction.
- Confidence collaborating directly with engineering and client stakeholders.
- Ability to articulate why a design decision is right, not only why it looks good.
- Comfort balancing brand distinctiveness with production reality.
Why Redstart
- High-autonomy environment with direct access to decision-makers.
- Meaningful range across brand, web, and customer-facing work.
- Opportunity to shape process and standards early rather than inherit them.
- A role with visible authorship, not anonymous output inside a large delivery chain.
